Robert Steffen is Professor of Travel Medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. There, he heads the Division of Epidemiology and Prevention of Communicable Diseases and he is also Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Traveller's Health. He also is a regular consultant to WHO on questions relating to emerging infections and travel health. He is President of the Swiss Influenza Pandemic Planning Committee, Vice-President of the Federal Swiss Commission on Vaccination (responsible mainly for adolescent and adult vaccinations), co-chair on Swiss Bioterrorism Committee. He he serves in a variety of advisory boards, including on several relating to HPV immunization.
